WSOP 2008 Winner

November 12, 2008

Nearly four months after the start of the WSOP the final table was finally played out. 9 players battled it out across the felt contesting a first prize worth over $9,000,000. After hours of play the action was heads up, Peter Eastgate Vs Ivan Demidov. Eastgate is only 22 years of age although don’t think be fooled in to thinking he is inexperienced as he his far from that although even he will admit he was out experienced by his Russian opponent, Demidov. Ivan Demidov is the only player to make the final table of both the WSOP and the WSOPE (and he did this in the same year!).

Peter Eastgate entered the heads up match with a small chip lead of $79.5 million to Demidov’s $57.725 million. After a lengthy heads up battle Peter Eastgate becomes the youngest wsop main event winner ever, beating Helmuth’s record.
